6 September

Between the times of 01:00 and 02:00 on Wednesday 05/10/11 a large quantity of diesel fuel has been stolen from an industrial site in Pembridge Lane, Broxbourne (Brickendon Liberty).

Please give us a call if you saw a curtain sided van just before or after these times.

22 August

We have a vehicle, that is believed to be on false plates, being used to commit dwelling burglaries in the rural areas of North Herts and East Herts.

The vehicle is described as a black VW Golf GTI with the index number of EJ11PUU. This vehicle was used in a burglary at Hinxworth on 15th August 2011, and seen under suspicious circumstances in Sawbridgeworth a few weeks earlier.

The index number actually belongs to a GREY VW Golf GTD which has been eliminated from the enquiry.

If anyone sees this vehicle would they please ring the police immediately on 101.

With the summer holidays fast approaching please keep your eyes and ears open when neighbours are away, help each other out by putting bins out on bin day.

Try putting different lights on, on a timer and get someone to pop to check the place now and again, if popping in to feed any animals ask them to draw the curtains and put the radio on a chat programme so there is voices, and perhaps park there cars on the drive some times.

There has been a recent spate of attempted burglaries and also burglaries around the area in the last month.

Dont forget your sheds and garages as well.

If you see any one suspicious call the police and try and get a registration and any descriptions.

My colleague in North Herts has advised me of the following which I thought may be a useful reminder.

A Peterborough based company have been going door to door in North Herts and Stevenage with brochures for furniture for the elderly and those with restricted mobility. They have been disregarding No Cold Calling Zones and targetting elderly and vulnerable residents.

Trading Standards are aware.

Residents are advised that if they have any concerns in relation to callers at their door to contact police on 0845 3300222 as soon as possible.

Please be aware that a Yamaha Motorcycle has been stolen from a farm in Wormley West End. This has occurred between the times of 18:00 Saturday 18/06/2011 and 09:00 Sunday 19th.
